British Claims Awards
The team at Lockyers are incredibly proud to have been awarded the British Claims Awards Diversity and Inclusion category.
Diversity and inclusion are a taken as “a given” in our team culture. Lockyers senior management value the diversity of the people. They lead by example and make it clear that discrimination will not be tolerated under any circumstances. All staff know that everyone’s contribution to the business is appreciated, creating a happier, stronger team with a greater engagement with the company and ultimately business success.
The team connection has never been stronger than in the current circumstances. Everyone has adapted to working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic and are successfully working “remotely together”.
“People make the difference…….and everyone is different. I love the team I have round me at Lockyers. If everyone was the same, then life would be boring.
Celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion are very close to my heart. Lockyers recognise that treating all colleagues with respect and dignity, encouraging people to “be yourself” creates a happier, stronger team with a greater engagement with the business.
We value the diversity of our people, our clients and understand that every business is different. The diverse group of individuals at Lockyers work together as a great team to keep driving growth and delivering first rate, personal customer service. Everyone’s contribution to the team is appreciated by both the company and our clients who know we will always go the extra mile for them.
Lockyers also want to make a difference in our local community. Lockyers support Leeds Pride and “Friends of Dorothy” who have run several successful events in addition to raising awareness in national media of isolation and loneliness within the gay community. I am especially proud of the team who completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge in appalling weather conditions, fundraising for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Macmillan Cancer Support. Although team events have not been possible so far this year. I am supporting the mental health charity MIND with solo challenges and the team are supporting Hearing Dogs for Deaf People”.
