Edgworth Real Ale Festival 23rd – 25th September
Lockyers are proud to be glass sponsors for the 10th Edgworth Real Ale Festival. Great music, food and of course beer, all in one place plus the chance to raise money for charity.
There will be 30 hand pumps on the bars at the Barlow in Edgworth plus a number of gravity fed beers. The selection for the weekend includes; Spitting Feathers “Old Wavertonian”, “Brainstorm” and “Special Ale”, “Brewsmith Bitter”, Banktop Brewery “Bad to the Bone” and Black Edge Brewing Company “Cascade” and “Brewers Gold”. There is also a choice of 6 ciders from Red Bank.
Locally produced pasties from Allen’s bakery and Frasers pork pies have been sampled and selected (and enjoyed!) by the organisers and will be available on 23rd and 24th September.
Be entertained by country rock music from The Witnesses on Saturday night or if you are around earlier in the day enjoy listening to the Darwen Brass Band
Money raised for charities from the previous 9 Edgworth Real Ale Festivals has reached an amazing £75,000. Beneficiaries include Bolton Hospice, Derian House Children’s Hospice, Help for Heroes, North West Air Ambulance and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The 2016 festival will be supporting Bolton Breast Cancer Unit and Bolton Mountain rescue plus making a donation to The Barlow Roof Appeal Fund and the Blackburn and Darwen Brass Band who will be playing on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
It’s easy to get there too. A shuttle bus is operating the area or get the train to Bromley Cross and Entwistle stations on the main Manchester to Blackburn line.
